The Halifax Pavilion

The Halifax Pavilion (or The Pavilion as it is locally called) is an all-ages club residing on The Halifax Common in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

History

The Pavilion was opened in 1998 by Condon Macleod. The club supported independent bands to play and generate fans. The club has since also booked many popular venues.

In January of 2003, the club was shut down. It underwent some major renovations and was reopened on August 13, 2004 and had a "breaking in" of The New stage by local bands Risky Business, I Hate Sally, Wheels on the Bus and Realms of Despair. The Grand reopening was headlined by Atlantic Canada favourite, Joel Plaskett.

Facilities

The Pavilion is located at 5816 Cogswell St in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is beside the skate park and swimming pool on the Halifax Common. It is housed in a brick building. This includes a main entrance with a hallway that leads to the main standing floor and the two washrooms. The Main floor includes the Aliant Stage and leads to an office and a green room for the performers. The floor has a canteen which sells t-shirts, souvenirs and snacks. There are AbOUT 4 couches as well.
