The Emerson Conservative
The Emerson Conservative ("EmCon") is Emerson College's first and only source for right-of-center news and opinion. Established in 2007, it is published irregularly and distributed free of charge across campus; however, it currently relies heavily on the use of its . The journal's ideological bent often puts it at odds with other Emerson publications, such as the liberal Berkeley Beacon and leftist Urban Pirate.
The Conservative's editorial line makes it sympathies clear:
"The Emerson Conservative is a right-of-center news and opinion journal by and for the students of Emerson College. We hope to provide an outlet for those who reject the cultural radicalism and political leftism fostered on our campus. Supporters of individual liberty, limited government, property rights, strong borders, fiscal discipline, and a hawkish but pragmatic foreign policy, we are both a product and a champion of Western civilization and its Judeo-Christian, classical liberal moral consensus."
