The Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions (CRPEP)
The Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions (CRPEP) is the governmental authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain which is assigned to license all engineering offices and all engineers in the kingdom, according to Law No 51 for 2014 with respect to Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions.
Before the Council formation, the engineering professions were regulated by the Committee of Organizing the Engineering Professional Practice (COEPP) which was formed in 1982 by virtue of Legislative Decree No. 17 of 1982. The work continued with this Decree till 2014 when Law No. 51 of 2014 was issued, where the Committee turned into the Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions.The creation of the Council comes in line with the directions to keep pace with the large developments in the engineering work which reflect real challenges for the engineering professions. The Council aims at improving the professions of engineering in the kingdom for various specializations through ensuring that only qualified and competent engineers are licensed to practice the engineering work.

In the Kingdom of Bahrain, the practice of engineering professions is prohibited until obtaining a license from CRPEP.
The Current applicable legislation includes Law No. (51) for 2014 with respect to the practice of engineering professions and its Executive Regulation issued by Ministerial Order No. (27) for 2016. Fess of the services are covered in Prime Minister's Edict No (2) for 2017.

Council & Committees Members
Dr. Hasan Fakhro was the first chairman of the committee then, from 1982 to 2004, followed by Eng. Ali Murad (2004 to 2009), then Eng. Moh’d Khalil Al Sayyed (2009 to 2013). The current Chairman of CRPEP is Eng. A. Majeed Al Qassab who was appointed in 2013.
