The Citadels

The Citadels are an Irish band founded in 2001. Originating in Cork, their unique, mellow and melodic sound brings to mind the Prefab Sprout and The Go Betweens bands of the 80's. Clear and intelligent lyrics combine with a light folk / pop melody to give a great chill-out mood. Fronted by Cormac O'Caoimh, they have a regular lineup of six players who gig extensively around Ireland and also in Britain and the United States. Their debut album Letting go, holding on was released in 2003 to Critical Acclaim. Many of their most popular songs are available for free download on their website.

The "Lovelight" EP was released March 2006. All tracks are free to download on the official site.

Cormac released his debut solo album, "Start a spark" in August 2007.
