The Alien Who Stole Christmas
"The Alien Who Stole Christmas" is an illustrated multimedia presentation meant for projection on large scale viewing devices, such as Planetarium theatres. Alien takes an inventive science fiction approach to the classic "Night Before Christmas" poem. The poem focuses on a peculiar adventure that takes place when Jolly Old Saint Nicholas has an unexpected encounter with an alien philanthropist named Mr. Freep. Freep informs Santa that although he thinks he delivers toys to all of the good girls and boys deserving of presents, the reality is that the other eight planets in the solar system also have children, who go without presents on christmas morning year after year! To remedy this problem, Father Christmas and Mr. Freep go on an interplanetary journey to find a way to deliver unique presents to all of the deserving extraterrestrials. The show was written and produced in 1989 by Gregg Tubbs, who is currently employed as a writer for the American Red Cross. The illustrations were done by Joe Tuccerone. The Voices of Santa Clause, Mr. Freep and the Narrator were all performed by Jack Carroll. The show was originally released by Brevard Community College in Cocoa Florida. The Show is currently playing during the christmas season at The North Museum of Natural History and Science in Lancaster, PA.
