Thankachan Emmanuel

Thankachan K. Emmanuel, born as Emmanuel Joseph, is an Indian filmmaker. His debut production is Kadha Thudarunnu which was directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. He is famous for being the first debut producer of well known director Sathyan Anthikkad as people know that Annthikkad does not introduce new producers but only actresses and minor actors but all of Sathyan's debuts have became successful.

Early life

Thankachan Emmanuel was born on October 5, 1961 in Thazhathangady, Kottayam, Kerala, India. As a child he loved movies and was inspired by them. He went to St.Stephens College in Uzhavoor, Kottayam and earned a Bachelors Degree in Commerce. After college Emmanuel wanted to work in the malayalam film Industry. He and his cousin worked for many distributor companies such as Century Films and with his smart and charismatic of business talent he quickly became the youngest General Manager of the malayalam film Industry. Unfortunately Emmanuel's father was in bad condition and no one was making any income other than him, he struggled through his youth age and took up a leader role in his household. When his father died in May 1987 it was a dark age for the Kunnumpurthu family. But light came immediately when his elder cousin who was living in the United States decide to sponsor him and take him to the US. In 1993 Thankachan Emmanuel stepped foot on American soil.

Film

Even though he lived in the United States his love for film and passion still continued. He watched almost every Indian movie and then dreaming to produce one someday. When Emmanuel finally got into a good financial situation he decided to take a risk and decided to produce a malayalam film, but with only one condition in his mind that was to begin his new career by producing with his favorite director Sathyan Anthikkad. In 2003 Thankachan Emmanuel approached The Famous Sathyan Sir and asked him for a date for his upcoming film. Anthikkad disagreed saying that he has too many producers waiting to produce a cinema with him. Emmanuel told him he will wait as long as Sathyan Sir wants him to wait but he will only start his business until he starts with him. Thankachan Emmanuel waited 5 years. After 5 years Sathyan Sir called Emmanuel to do a movie and that was Kadha Thudarunnu.

Swapna Sanchari

After the super hit Kadha Thudarunnu Emmanuel did not wait a second for his next project to be another great hit. He meet with legendary director Kamal and asked to join as a team to create another hit.Kamal quickly agreed Emmanuel's request as he was proud to have a banner like Trueline Cinema approach him. The film began shooting in July 2011 in Thodupuzha starring Jayaram, Samvrutha Sunil etc. The film released on November 2011 and became a super hit at the box office grossing in two months. This is Trueline Cinema's biggest hit thus far.
