Temptation Sordid, or, Virtue Rewarded, A Melodrama (1960) is a one-act play by Winifred Phelps in the style of Victorian era melodrama, not infrequently performed by amateur dramatics groups.
The fortune-hunter Sir Jasper, assisted by the voluptuous Fanny, plots to marry the lovely Arabella. Clarence, who has a pure love for Arabella, resists him, and they all travel through valleys of iniquity. Clarence and Arabella are united at the last over the dead bodies of their enemies.
