Telos IV

Telos IV is a fictional planet in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. Telos was originally featured in the Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice series. The planet is also mentioned in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and is featured in the video game duology Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, produced by LucasArts and Obsidian Entertainment.

Telos was mentioned in the first game as the homeworld of Carth Onasi, the assault and subsequent destruction of which by Saul Karath and his Sith fleet he feels responsible for. During the second game, five years later, restoration efforts are underway to help return the planet to its former glory. The efforts are coordinated from Citadel Station, a giant modular space station orbiting the planet, not unlike part of a shell. This effort is primarily being run by the Ithorians of planet Ithor, who are experts in the intricate and delicate art of planetary ecology. The success of the planetary restoration would have convinced the Republic to put funding into the similar restoration of other worlds devastated by the War; alternatively, its failure would doom this planet and hundreds more, as the Republic would not see the wisdom of tying up such vast amounts of resources that were needed elsewhere. On the planet of Telos itself, a secret academy, run by the Jedi Master Atris, lies hidden under the northern polar ice cap, in an old planetary irrigation centre similar to that of Coruscant.

Thousands of years later, Telos has recovered and become a popular destination for intergalactic tourists. AbOUT twelve years before the Battle of Naboo, the former padawan Xanatos turned the planet upside down in his pursuit for personal power. Only the intervention of Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi thwarted Xanatos' plans, and helped return the planet to its rightful government, as described in the Star Wars Jedi Apprentice novel The Day of Reckoning.
