TEE Center

The TEE Center, short for Trade, Exhibition, and Entertainment Center, is a proposed 15,000 seated, 200,000 square-foot multi-purpose arena and convention center in Augusta, Georgia currently in the planning stages. It is part of The Downtown Augusta Redevelopment Plan and was also proposed due to very few events coming to Augusta in the older James Brown Arena. Construction could start in the Fall of 2008 and could open as early as 2010. The arena will be over 200,000 square feet and seat over 15,000 people when it opens. It will be built on the property next to the Marriott and a few blocks from the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame's Botanical Garden. When it opens, it will be the largest arena in Georgia outside of Atlanta and the 7th largest sports venue in Georgia respectively, behind the Georgia Dome, Philips Arena, and Turner Field in Atlanta, Sanford Stadium in Athens, Bobby Dodd Stadium on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta, and Paulson Stadium in Statesboro, Georgia, and will replace the James Brown Arena. The cost of the arena is estimated at $40 million.
