AbOUT

In the fictional Wing Commander universe, the Terran Confederation started deploying many new fighters for their fleets by the year 2680, including the TB-81 Shrike Torpedo Bomber. These bombers are flyable in the Wing Commander: Prophecy computer game and is the preferred choice for attacks against small capital ships.

Shrike bombers are more used than the TB-80 Devastator Bombers due to their slightly increase of maximum velocity, increased maneuverability and their weapon loadout for better fighting off enemy fighters. Unlike the Devastator bombers, the Shrikes were much more maneuverable, allowing pilots to evade enemy fighters much easier than the heavy Devastator bomber. A Shrike bomber is equipped with a front-mount weapon array which includes two Particle Cannons, two Mass-driver guns, and a Stormfire gatling gun. Shrikes also have a missile loadout that includes four Image Recognition missiles, four Dart Dumbfire missiles, six Light Torpedoes, thirty-six unguided Dragonfly mini-rocket pods and eighteen space mines. These bombers are also equipped with a single defensive laser turret; in-case they are performing bombing runs on enemy capital ships and are being chased by enemy crafts. The Shrike Bomber is well-suited for attacks against smaller enemy capital ships and can hold its own in small starfighter fire-fights.
