Tasha's World

Tasha's World, real name Natascha Slagtand, (born February 14 1971) is a Dutch singer songwriter.

She is a Dutch Soul singer of the Neo-Soul revolution born in The Netherlands to parents of Surinamese descent. Natascha was raised alongside a brother and sister neither of whom are involved in the music industry. She was raised in a strict religious background and later opted out to pursue a life more suited to her natural instincts as which involved music and the world of musicians. Based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands she became involved with local artist E-Life with whom she mothered a child.

In 2001 she signed with UK manager and producer Patrick Jacobs on a production deal which took her to the United Kingdom to work with British musicians and producers. The album Tasha's World was produced and signed to Avex records in Japan. This album soon became an underground classic and was exported all over the world including back in the UK. On release of this album Tashaa's World embarked on A Tour with a live band covering all corners of The Netherlands. Management played a very important part of the career of Tasha's World and this took her career underground based on the lack of interest from major labels. The Klinik Music then took the decision to license the album to those that showed interest such as Dome Records in the UK.
