Tania Solis was a Contestant On Protagonistas de la música.
Born Tania Yelena Solis in “La Romana”, Dominican Republic. During her childhood years, watching artists of the level of Frank Sinatra and Julio Iglesias in Altos de Chavon’s Amphitheater in La Romana, influenced Tania’s love and passion for music.
In High school, writing songs and singing silently was Tania’s hobby.
At the age of 15 she arrives to New York together with hundreds of songs written by her and a dream to conquer. Without wasting time Tania starts taking singing classes and keeps growing her songs repertoire. In the late 90’s Tania travels to Puerto Rico where Edwin Rivera employs her voice. In 2001 a local executive music producer takes notice of Tania’s writing ability and recommends her for Giselle’s album “ Lo mejor de Giselle” where Tania’s song “Fuego en la cintura” becomes a #1 hit in Puerto Rico for several weeks. In this album Tania shared credits with writers of the stature of Manuel Tejada and Bonny Cepeda.
Los Sabrosos del Merengue, Grupo Mambo and Caña Brava also take notice of Tania’s writing ability and included her songs in their respective albums.
In a quick visit to New York, Tania learns about a national casting for the upcoming Telemundo’s reality show “Protagonistas de la Musica”. Unfortunately Tania cannot make the New York audition due to timing constrains. However, she flies to Los Angeles for a second audition.
After two days of extensive and stressful auditions, Tania was selected with other 9 talented participants to be united in Miami with other 40 contestants from the US and Latin America for a final casting.

Once in Miami, several days took the Judges, compose of the cream of Latin music and entertainment, to decide the future of 14 contestants that where entering the “Protagonista de la musica” famous reality show. Tania is selected and becomes the only Dominican female that enters the house.
After 4 weeks in the show and a perfect standing with no “live hood treads” and not “talent treats”, Tania decides to leave the show for personal reasons.
Once out of the show and back in NY, her community embraces Tania by receiving a flow of invitations to community events as well as media outlets.
