Tahoe Power
Tahoe Power (abbreviated TPI or Tahoe) is an American light industrial power equipment manufacturer, and succeeded Tahoe Industries in the Power Equipment business in May of 2011.
Tahoe Power was founded and incorporated in the Las Vegas Valley, Nevada as was its predecessor, Tahoe Industries (TI). TI was founded as a result of the epic hurricanes (Rita, Katrina & Wilma) and ice storms of 2005 and 2006, and was one of two major American manufacturers to provide generators during the massive electricity outages of August 2008 (Hurricane Gustav & Ike) and February 2009 (Ice Storm of the Century - Arkansas & Missouri). Tahoe has since survived a web-based attack launched in May 2009 and continued through 2012 by one of its primary competitors in the light industrial equipment industry, for which it filed a libel/defamation suit in February 2013 in the 8th District Court. https://www.clarkcountycourts.us/Anonymous/CaseDetail.aspx?CaseID=10899932
Tahoe sells large portable (over 400 cc) generators designed for supplying electricity to household items as well as a variety of contractor power tools. The generators utilize remote-control electric start, digital control panels, high capacity fuel tanks and over sized muffler systems for quiet operation. Tahoe Power is a Honda Small Engine OEM, utilizing Honda GX200 engines on its portable air compressors, pressure washers and pumps, and the Honda GX390 on its portable generators.
In addition to manufacturing light industrial power equipment under its own name, Tahoe Power's divisions include customer service, parts, warranty repair, logistics and distributor relations/development. TPI offers equipment nationwide and in Canada through a network of 13 distributors.
