T. Nicholas Phakos
T. Nicholas Phakos a New England watercolorist, is a graduate of Vesper George Art School of Boston, MA. He is an artist and former teacher at the Wistariahurst Museum in Holyoke, MA. Phakos is known for his winter landscapes and depictions of Greece. He has received awards from the Copley Society (Boston, MA), The Salamagundi Club (New York, NY), Springfield Art League (Springfield, MA), Berkshire Art Association (Pittsfield, MA), South Shore Art Center (Cohassett, MA), North River Arts Society, Quincy Art Association,(Qunciy, MA), and the Hudson Valley Art Lague (White Plains, NY). His prints and watercolors of Greece have won three Best in Show awards and a Merit Award at the Annual National Greek Art Exhibition. The National Wildlife Federation has printed animal and bird paintings by Phakos. His paintings are in many private and corporate collections throughout the country. Phakos has also designed greeting cards for the National Audubon Society.
