The Sweet American Chocolate Factory is a brand name for The Sweet American Corporation, which was founded in 1982 as a brand holding company. Its original intent was to be a holding company for various franchise based brands specializing in the retail distribution of food products. In the year 2000, it shifted the focus away from actual brick and mortar retail outlets to an online store selling fine chocolates and gifts to the public under the brand name "The Sweet American Chocolate Factory". As of this writing, The Sweet American Chocolate Factory manufactures its own brands of chocolate and cocao products and offers its fine chocolates and gifts online and through various high end retail locations.
