Surendra Pratap Singh (author)
Surendra Pratap Singh, (S.P. Singh) was born in a village in Uttar Pradesh, India (6 November 1962). After primary education from a village school, he passed his ISC from UP Sainik School, Lucknow. Thereafter, he did his military training from NDA and IMA before getting commissioned as an officer in 1983. During a patrolling assignment in 1998 in Mizoram, he passed by a haunted lake. When asked why there was no human settlement around that water body, a Gorkha soldier narrated him its folktale. The story inspired him to pick up writing, which later became his passion.
Presently he lives in Dehradun.
Career
In more than a decade, he has penned down AbOUT sixty short stories and four novels. The first short story collection Dying Shadows was published on 30 October 2004, the second, Truth and Beyond in 2006. MiST, Dew and Raindrops was published on 20 February 2017. His first novel, Parrot under the Pine Tree was published on 1 May 2017.

Novel
- Parrot Under the Pine Tree: Parrot under the Pine Tree is a novel published on 1 May 2017 by Invincible Publishers. It is the story of two lovers and how they are reunited after facing difficulties.
