Surabaya flag football league

Surabaya flag football league (SFFL) (Indonesian: liga flag football surabaya) is highest flag football league of region surabaya, indonesia. This competition is managed by indonesian flag football association region surabaya. This competition has three seasons before. The first season was started in June 2011 and the last season was held in July 2012. For three seasons, lobster spartan be the winner in The Two seasons (SFFL I dan SFFL II). And for the first season, taken by crocodile.

History

2010 in surabaya, flag football was a minority sport. Not many know AbOUT flag football before. But, there is flag football club named crocodile. Crocodile has many players. But someday, almost all players spread out. The reason behind that was for introduced flag football to other people in surabaya. The results came out in may. There was 4 flag football clubs. They are, crocodile, paladin, lobster spartan, and mblendez wolves (mblendez wolves was a fraction of lobster spartan because there are so many players). After that, some people decided to make flag football association of region surabaya. The first project of Iffa surabaya was a surabaya flag football league season 1. And then, in November 2011, 5 months after the first season, iffa surabaya hold surabaya flag football league season 2. Iffa surabaya decided to gave it a break competition to all flag football players in surabaya during 8 months. In July 2012, iffa surabaya hold the last season of surabaya flag football league. And from February 2013, surabaya flag football was changed by surabaya bowl.

Seasons

Surabaya flag football league season 1

Surabaya flag football league season 1 was held on June 2011. There are four teams who join in this league. There are crocodile, paladin, lobster spartan, and mblendez wolves. In the first season, iffa surabaya decided to used ranking table system. crocodile was performed very well in that season. At that time, The All players from crocodile has a high quality skill than the other players from the other teams. At last, surabaya flag football league season 1 throphy was taken by crocodile.

Surabaya flag football league season 2

5 months after the first season, iffa surabaya decided to held surabaya flag football league season 2. The participants changed but, the participants number still same like the first season. There are crocodile, inferno, lobster spartan, and paladin. Sffl season 2 has a difference atmosphere than the first season. The underdog team, paladin and lobster spartan capable to surprise the other team, crocodile and inferno. As the result, lobster spartan can beat inferno with high score, 20 - 0. The big match exactly happened when lobster spartan against paladin. The match was almost 3 hours. But at last, lobster spartan came out as a winner. In the last match, lobster spartan meet crocodile for the deciding game. Crocodile take the lead until the last minute. Lobster spartan player, Hasbi Azhar scored 2 touchdown in the last minute and made lobster spartan take the lead from crocodile. It was make lobster spartan came out as a winner and as a champion of the league. Crocodile was failed to retain The Title at that time.

Surabaya flag football league season 3

Surabaya flag football league season 3 was held in July 2012. Same like the 2 seasons before, only 4 teams who join the competition. There are crocodile, inferno, lobster spartan, and gladiator. At that time, gladiator was a rookie team who change paladin because the team was over. Rivalry between the teams is much better than the previous season. Lobster spartan, the champion of previous season, was defeated by an inferno although with a thin score. Crocodile, who won in the first match versus gladiator must beaten by lobster spartan with score 13 - 14. And in the end of the competition, lobster spartan was meet gladiator for the last match. Lobster spartan must win with a high score in order to retain the title. In the end of game, lobster spartan succeed beat gladiator with highest score during the competition and automatically came out as the champion of surabaya flag football league season 3.

Trivia

After 3 seasons, the competition league changed into surabaya bowl from 9 February 2013. Same as sffl, surabaya bowl managed by iffa surabaya.

Championship history

Seen from the table above, lobster spartan is considered as the best achieving clubs, since they could finished in the first position consecutively in season 2 and season 3, and also finished in the third position when the first season.
