Origin of the band name Guitarist Clyde Hargrove stated: Our Vocalist Ansley once had a dream AbOUT having a historic command of water and woke up and explained the dream so then thought about having to be able to sympathize with its abuse.

How the Band Formed 2010

Brothers Billy and Clyde decided to form the band after taking a few years off from their MusicAL projects that they were in together while attending college at LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. Billy had played rhythm guitar in several bands throughout college, while his brother took up the role as lead guitarist. The duo recruited their family friend Ryan Robinson to serve as the band's drummer. The three men worked with a variety of female vocalists to complete their group, but failed to find one that was a good fit. Eventually, Billy and Clyde's cousin Kemerton mentioned a girl that he went to high school with might be interested. A few weeks later, the boys watched a couple of videos of Ansley Hughes on Youtube playing an acoustic guitar. They then found a picture of Ansley on Facebook with a snake wrapped around her head and knew they had found the right girl. Ansley later revealed that sometimes she felt like they were "stalking her". Jason Mills then brought his keyboard to the group shortly after.

Genre Created

The band describes their style as a self-made genre, aptly named "Water Pop," described by the band as “a synthesis of classic symphonic ambiance with modern ethereal anthems." In an interview with KBOI-TV2 News Boise, Ansley stated: "Every song we've ever written coincidentally has some reference to some form of water in it. Whether it be comparison to a river or even a tear or you know things to that and we're very ambient and very ethereal in that sense and we talk about water a lot and we like water."

Recording in London and Warped Tour June-August 2012

The band recently recorded their second album in June 2012 at Voltaire Road Studios in London, which has yet to be released. While in London, the band played 2 shows at a local club marking their first performance outside the United States. The album was produced with London-based music producer, Cam Blackwood, who has produced and mixed for Florence and The Machine, Coldplay, and Morrissey. They then went on to perform select dates on the 2012 Vans Warped Tour which included their first ever concerts in Canada(Toronto and Montreal).
