Sunday Rest
Sunday is a sleep focussed start-up in India, founded by Alphonse Reddy in September 2015. Alphonse is also the founder of FabMart.com, a retail venture that sells premium sleep products. Sunday mattresses are manufactured and retailed by MRPL (Madanapalle Retail Private Ltd). The mattresses made by Sunday conform to international health and safety standards such as Euro Latex, OekoTex 100 and LGA certifications. The mattresses have been designed by Japanese designer Hiroko Shiratori, who is the founding member of London-based design collective OKAY studio. The sleep market in India at present is largely driven by unorganised players. By standardising the mattress buying experience in India, Sunday is aiming for 10% of the $3.5 billion (over Rs 20,000 crores) BRANDed mattress market in the next three years. Apart from selling online through its website, the company also retails in Bangalore. The start-up is planning to expand to other cities, and open 50 experience centres in the next 3 years to supplement its e-commerce play. The start-up is also targeting a global market, and plans to expand to the Middle East, South East Asia and Australia in the future
