Summerdale Railway

The Summerdale Railway, or Summerdale Line, is a miniature garden railway, nestling in a garden of a small property on the outskirts of Hove, East Sussex, UK.

The Line is in OO gauge, 4mm scale and runs for a total distance of 30ft (approx). First built in August 2006, and the first stretch of track ran for AbOUT 12 feet. In March 2007 the owner and builder of the line, Rob Johnston decided to extend the line, almost doubling its then current running distance, and tripling its running capacity. The extension is currently under construction, roughly half complete as of August 2007.

Hardware

The Track is Peco flexitrack code 100 nickel silver, therefore not rusting while permanently fixed outdoors. All track is nailed down to a Teak hardwood trackbed, custom built and either raised slightly above ground level or on ground level.

All locomotives and rolling STOCK are Hornby models, the control system is a Hornby HM4000, soon to be upgraded to DCC.
