Testimonials
"A great bipolarity lies within the music of Sulu Babylon. On one hand, yes, they are a power trio, distortion and thunderous drums ripping through their songs, yet on the other hand they’re also intensely emotional, almost to the point of mawkish sentimentality." Conard, C. Thebigtakover.com

"Sulu Babylon’s Colour is my favorite thing right now" - Rock world magazine.

"Sulu Babylon leave listeners of the COLOUR EP wanting to hear more. The beats, notes and lyrics all come together to formulate one of the most promising alternative rock bands in some time. Forming in 2010, the band sound as if they are seasoned rock veterans." - The Music Examiner

History
Formation (2009-2010)
The first incarnation of what would eventually become Sulu Babylon was formed by Phillip Killingsworth and Ryan Johnson in late 2009, after the demise of a Goole based Punk-Rock band, Queensbury Rules.

The project was initially a musical outlet for the pair, experimenting with a number of different sounds, some involving the use of Synthesizers and spent the rest of 2009 writing music, however, following a large demand for shows, the project emerged as Sulu Babylon in early 2010.

Headshot (2011)
After a string of successful live shows, sharing stages with the likes of The Virgin Marys, the band released their first, self-financed E.P, Headshot on 9 May 2011 under Purple Worm records which, among other reviews, received a 3/5 rating from Red Hot Velvet,.

The band toured this album extensively throughout Yorkshire and The Midlands, receiving airplay on a variety of local radio stations, more notably on BBC Introducing with their track Ghost In A Room.

Arguments/Save Our Souls (2012)
During 2012 the band developed their sound extensively, writing, recording and touring their music. Their first single Arguments was released during this time on 6 February 2012 which sparked an array of opportunities across the country.

With developing interest Sulu played throughout the UK, touring areas such as London, The Midlands and Yorkshire, including Festivals for Riff Magazine and appearing on local radio stations with a second appearance on BBC Introducing featuring their tracks Arguments, The Right Choice and Free.

The band would later release their second single, Save Our Souls under Purple Worm Records on 13 December 2012.

Colour EP (2014)
Sulu Babylon released their EP 'Colour' on 6 June after a number of gig dates across the UK and Western Europe sharing the stage with a number of bands including China Drum. The EP was widely reviewed by a number of websites and magazines, appearing in Hull Daily Mail and earning the band their first TV appearance on Estuary TV with Unsigned Transmissions.
