Sujit Meher
Sujit Meher () is an Indian fashion designer and young entrepreneur based in Bangalore and an alumnus of National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore.
Early life and education
Born and brought up in Odisha, Sujit was studying to graduate in Engineering, when he decided to change his career path and applied for the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Bangalore. He graduated in 2013, studying in Fashion and lifestyle accessories design and also did research and project on Indian handicraft jewellery. In 2012 he had helped organize the annual Odisha festival, Nuakhai, incorporating a fashion show.
Career
In early 2013, he was appointed as designer of a Bollywood production and distribution company Eros International.
In September 2013 he presented his first design collection with Sambalpuri handloom fabric with the theme of "Folk Fashion", which are creating an evolution in sambalpuri handloom sector. Being the founder of "Tilottama" brand in early age of 24, he became one of the youngest designer cum entrepreneur from India making contribution towards art, culture and tradition of nation with his creations. Sujit blends ikat designed fabric with rich cotton and silk to make fusion collections, which are widely known for his Sambalpuri Ikat signature style. He has launched his second line of collection with the name of "Story of Tradition" in December 2013. In June 2014 Sujit launched another line named Noor-E-Tilottama the economic range designs for the mass market. In March 2014 Sujit awarded for the young Designer-Cum-Entrepreneur for the year 2014 By GCC group.
