Sudhin Choksey
Sudhin Choksey (born 31 January 1954) is an Executive Director (Designate) of Bandhan Bank and the former Managing Director and CEO of GRUH Finance Limited.
Education
Choksey completed his schooling at New Era School, Mumbai, before earning his degree from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, affiliated with the University of Mumbai. To qualify as a chartered accountant, he completed his articleship at G.P. Kapadia & Company, Mumbai, and passed his A.C.A. examinations in 1978. He is a fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Career
In 1993, Choksey joined Gruh Finance Limited as General Manager. He was appointed as an Executive Director of the company in May 1996, then as CEO in November 1998, and later as Managing Director in June 2000. In 2019, he led the merger of GRUH Finance with Bandhan Bank. Post-merger, he joined the latter as an Executive Director (Designate)., heading the Housing Finance Business of Bandhan Bank.
Currently, Choksey serves as an Independent Director on the board of CSB Bank and as an Advisor to WestBridge Capital, a private investment firm based in California. He has also served as an independent director on the boards of HDFC Credila Financial Services, Deepak Nitrite Limited, Gujarat Ambuja Exports Limited, and Light Microfinance Private Limited. Additionally, he was a board member of Gujarat State Financial Services Limited, a Government of Gujarat undertaking, and Hunnar Shaala Foundation for Building Technology and Innovations.
In 2014, Choksey joined the National Taskforce on Rural Housing and Habitat set up by Ministry of Rural Development (India) for rural housing finance.
Awards
Choksey received the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India Business Leader Financial Services Award for the Year 2015.
