Sudhi Ranjan Mohanty
Sudhi Ranjan Mohanty (born 21 March 1960), commonly known as SR Mohanty, is an IAS Officer of 1982 cadre who is the current Additional Chief Secretary of New and Renewable Energy as well as Education Department in the Government of Madhya Pradesh. He is also the Managing Director for Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited.
Hailing from Orissa, Mohanty has done his schooling at the Mayo College, Ajmer, and completed his graduation from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. After graduating with a BA (Honors) degree in economics, he went ahead to obtain a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management(MBA) at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in the class of 1979.
He has been the recipient of the Global Development Award for Most Innovative Project in 2000 for his work in devising the Rogi Kalyan Samiti concept. He has also received the Solar Power - Man of the Year Award from Renewable World for his contribution to creation of a conducive policy environment and institutional capacity for solar power development in Madhya Pradesh, and the Global Solar EPC Award in 2014 for his department's work in the state of Madhya Pradesh, being presented with the 'Emerging State with popular policy for outstanding contribution towards the development of Solar Energy'.
