Substance (company)

Substance is an American independent film production company based in Cleveland, Ohio, launched in 2023.

History

In 2023, the company was formed when Ryan Kelly partnered with Adam Wilde (owner and CEO of TRG Multimedia) and Geoff Yaw to create what was initially called TRG Sound & Vision before rebranding to Substance.

Substance partnered with BoulderLight Pictures to produce Buddy, directed by Casper Kelly and premiering at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.

Substance also assisted with Chris Stuckmann's Shelby Oaks film, and the documentary Age of Audio about the history of podcasting, featuring interviews with Marc Maron, Kevin Smith, and Ira Glass.
