Stone Circle Livery
Stone Circle Livery in Woodchurch, Kent, United Kingdom, is the United Kingdom's first "organic" livery yard for horses and horse owners. The livery yard is set in 80 acres of organic land that is regulated by the Soil Association for hay and forage. It is a British Horse Society Approved Livery Yard and a member of the British Equestrian Trade Association.
Stone Circle Livery was voted Kent Environment Business of the Year 2007, and was a finalist in the Management Today Green Business Awards. The Livery yard has been noted for exceptional standards by British Horse Society Inspectors.
The vision behind Stone Circle Livery was to create a livery yard that enabled the horses to graze and eat feed stuffs that were free from pesticides and genetically modified inputs; herbal de-wormers are used. Stone Circle Livery in conjunction with Stableview.tv engineered a full webcam system enabling horse owners to keep in touch with their horse at all times. In addition, this technology has been adapted to provide DVD recordings of riding lessons in the 20X60 rubber arena and 20m round pen which is also rubber surfaced.
Stone Circle Livery is a small and private livery yard with only nine loose boxes. This ensures that the yard remains private and exclusive. The stables are brick built with high roofs for natural ventilation. Every stable at Stone Circle Livery has speakers enabling horses to hear music from all points in the yard. The yard is set in a designated Special Landscape Area and the countryside is protected. Stone Circle Livery has planted over 30,000 trees in the form of new hedgerows and woodland creation. In addition wetland habitat has been restored and maintained.
