Sto. Rosario Montessori School
Sto. Rosario Montessori School is a premier school located at the vicinity of Road 3, San Miguel Heights, Marulas, Valenzuela City. Founded by Mrs. Rosario P. Santos( Current School Directress ) in 1985, the school currently offers Nursery, Kinder 1, & Kinder 2 for the Preparatory Level, Grades 1 - 6 for the Elementary Level & the newest department opened - the Highschool Department. ( As of SY 2008 - 2009 )
History
1985 - SRM was founded by Mrs. Rosario P. Santos as Holy Rosary Learning Center. The Center started with 18 pupils from nursery to preparatory under the tutelage of Ms. Josephine dela Vega.
1986 - Mrs. Fredalynn Rosa Santos - Geralde joins the teaching force of SRM.
1991 - Holy Rosary Learning Center was Renamed into Sto. Rosario Montessori School under the Montessori method & Piagetian education Philosophy.
1992 - The Department Of Education, Culture & Sports ( DECS ) recognized the school & was given a permit.
2000 - The Grade School Department was established.
2002 - The Main Building was erected.
2005 - The school started to compete with other schools in competitions around Valenzuela and the CAMANAVA Area
2008 - The High School Department was established.
Inspired by the noble profession of teaching, Mrs. Rosario P. Santos decided to put up a learning center for preschoolers in 1985. Being a devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary, she named the school Holy Rosary Learning Center which was then affiliated with the Pre-Elementary Educators of the Philippines (PEP). Its operation started with 18 pupils from nursery to preparatory level under the tutelage of Ms. Josephine Dela Vega, occupying a single room only.
In 1986, Ms. Fredalynn Rosa Santos Geralde joined the teaching force of the school. Since then the population of the school grew with students coming not only from Marulas but from different areas of Valenzuela.
The teaching staff continued to conduct research to develop new techniques and method to meet the needs of its clientele. In the process of the research and evaluation, the teachers discovered and believe in the methodology and philosophy of teaching of Dr. Maria Montessori.
After undergoing extensive Montessori Method training, the school finally adopted the Montessori Curriculum incorporating major aspects of Piagetian educational philosophy. The school was renamed Sto. Rosario Montessori School in 1991. The Department of Education Culture and Sport (Now Department of Education) gave it the permit and was recognized in 1992. The same year, a new building was constructed in the same premises to house additional classes. An extension of the said building became necessary a couple of years later.
It was in the Academic Year 2000-2001 that the Grade School Department (with permit from DepEd) was established due to the insistent demand of the surrounding community. For its first year only grades 1 and 2 was offered. The next grade levels opened every year thereafter.
In the year 2002, a new building with complete facilities was built to accommodate the growing clientele of the school which aims to enhance the services, academic programs and physical facilities to meet the demand of the
