Steve Tyler (actor)
Steve Tyler (b. 1963-09-21) is an American actor and stage producer.
Biography
Tyler was born in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1963. He lives in Los Angeles where he is an ACTIVE participant in the city's artistic and political landscape. He is the national spokesman for Big Brothers of America and a member of the California Council for the Humanities and Board of Governors of GLASS.
As an actor, Tyler has appeared as a gas station attendant in King Pin, as a doctor in Me, Myself & Irene, Starred as Matthew Haines in Dustin Lance Black film Journey of Jared Price, as a reporter in There's Something AbOUT Mary, as a waiter in Shallow Hal, and as a policeman in Stuck On You. Other roles include A River Made to Drown In, Boys Life 3 and recurring roles as the Minister of Fairview on Desperate Housewivesand as Gino in Days of our Lives. He has numerous acting awards for his theatrical work in Los Angeles, where he has appeared in First Couple, The Cat's Meow, Rubicon, Self Help, and Carla. He has more than forty theatrical productions from New York to Los Angeles to his credit. He appeared as the Kool cigarette man in a worldwide media campaign and in national and regional television commercials for everything from Allstate to Zyrtec. He had a regular hosting gig on P.M. Magazine.
As a producer Tyler credits include the stage play and television pilot C.L.A.S.S. and The Body Kick. He has produced over twenty theatrical stage productions, including Valley of the Dolls. He co-founded the Los Angeles Playwrights Arena Theatre with Jon Lawrence Rivera.
