Steve Stout

Steve Stout (born c.1964) is an American sports journalist from Urbana, Ohio. He started working at the Urbana Daily Citizen in 1979, at the age of 15, becoming one of the youngest beat reporters in Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State University history when he started covering them. Stout worked as a Daily Citizen correspondent until 1993, and became sports editor in April 1993. He has continued to work as the Urbana Daily Citizen beat writer for Urbana University football and men’s and women’s basketball, giving the Blue Knights coverage in the local paper for more than 20 years. He has won over 30 sports writing awards, including three first-place finishes in the statewide Associated Press contest. Stout, who graduated from Wright State University in 1988, attended Urbana University in 1984-1985 and played on the varsity golf team under Coach Terry Anderson. Stout was inducted as the 27th member of the Urbana University Athletic Hall of Fame on September 30, 2006. In addition, Stout is the co-founder of the Miami University Cradle of Coaches Archive, which was established in 2000 to honor such legendary football coaches as Paul Brown, Weeb Ewbank, Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler and Ara Parseghian, who all either played or coached at Miami University.
