Steve Moore (Inner Surge)

Steve Moore is the singer and creator of critically acclaimed Canadian metal/punk band Inner Surge. He began the project in the summer of 2000 while writing material in New York. This material eventually became Inner Surge's debut album Solus Verum.

In InterViews, Steve has often mentioned Malcolm X as a primary influence on his life and politics. This interest in human rights and activism has led to his intense interest in the Black Panther movement, the Zapatista rebellion in Chiapas, Mexico, the Rwandan [...], Romeo Dallaire and controversial writers such as Talisma Nasrin.

Moore wrote nearly all of Inner Surge's second release, Matrika. The album was very well reviewed and made Punkcanada.com's "Top 10 of 2004" list. Before recording Inner Surge's most recent album Signals Screaming, Moore went to Australia and began writing new material. Upon returning to Canada, he completely reformed the band with drummer Bryan Sandau and guitarist Scott Taylor. They began preparing tracks immediately for the New album.

Bassist Jim Fernandes joined the band soon after and helped them finish the recording of Signals screaming.

Steve Moore, while focusing most of his efforts on Inner Surge, has two side projects called Post Death Soundtrack and Free Form. Steve is currently writing new material with Inner Surge and preparing for their tour.
