Steve Bingham is a violin player, orchestra leader and recording artist who also plays Electric Violin. He studied violin with Emmanuel Hurwitz, Sidney Griller and the Amadeus Quartet at the Royal Academy of Music from 1981 to 1985. He has won prizes for orchestral leading and string quartet. He formed the Bingham String Quartet in 1985 The quartet has worked for radio and television both in the UK as well as Australia.

He has worked with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, English National Ballet and English Sinfonia. He has given solo recitals both in the UK and America and and appeared at prestigious venues such as St. Johns’ Smith Square and the Royal Albert Hall. He released a CD album called "Duplicity" 2005, and his second solo CD album, "Ascension" was released in 2008.

Lately Bingham has developed his interest in improvisation, electronics and World music. Some of the musicians that he has collaborated with are guitarist Jason Carter, Tabla player Sanju Vishnu Sahai, Sitar player Baluji Shivastrav and pianist Abdullah Ibrahim.
