Stereotype Anomaly

Stereotype Anomaly is an American electronic band from Texas. They have been praised in the game mod scene for their work on composing professional music for their video games projects. They're currently not signed with any label.

Stereotype Anomaly's original influences were Garbage, Snake River Conspiracy and Kidneythieves. Electronica always inspired them during high school for its ability to compose almost anything to their hearts desire. Clay always had a passion for sequencing and sampling music using computer tools such as Propellerhead's Reason 3.0. Stereotype Anomaly didn't have any other members until late 2002. Keelei Braswell came along as the band's vocalist and guitarist.

History

(2001-2002) Formation

Stereotype Anomaly was formed in a small mid-western town called Pampa located in North Texas at 35°32′35″N, 100°57′53″W. Clayton A. Davis was attending Pampa High School where he befriended Keelei Braswell that joined the band a year later. Clay had a knack for composing music on his computer with programs such as Propellerhead's Reason 3.0, while Keelei was a skilled guitarist and vocalist that shared similar interests in musical compositions.

Together, they learned how to work without any beforehand knowledge of recording vocals or guitars into the computer. With mediocre recording equipment and Keelei's adverse vocalist shyness, they appeared foreordained. However, after hard work their talent started to shine light to opportunity.

(2002-) Development

Their work first appeared publicly on a PC game mod titled High Octane which was modified from the popular PC game Half-Life 2. Unfortunately, the game ceased production and never was completed due to team member personal differences. However, Stereotype Anomaly's music can still be downloaded for free from various websites.

Later on they joined the Half-Life 2 game mod The Forgotten War. Stereotype Anomaly composed an entire soundtrack for The Forgotten War and this was uploaded on the homepage. (The Forgotten War is currently still in production with no known release date currently as of 10/01/2006.)

Stereotype Anomaly had an opportunity to compose music for a MMORPG (Massively Online Role Playing Game) with name undisclosed due to a non-disclosure act agreement. The project was disbanded for lack of proper funding and creative differences. However, the music composed for the game can be downloaded at Stereotype Anomaly's website for free.

Point of Existence recruited Stereotype Anomaly in 2005 to compose music for their popular mod for Battlefield 2. Due to lack of interest, Stereotype Anomaly left PoE a month later.
