Stephen Watson (entrepreneur)
Stephen Watson (born September 21, 1966) is a British entrepreneur and adviser on leadership and communications. He was part of David Cameron's successful leadership election team in 2005, and is known for chairing the British-German Association and Tusk Trust, Prince William's African wildlife charity.
Career
Business
Watson is CEO of CTN Communications, the agency that produced the 39th G8 summit. He advises political and corporate leaders on their communications strategies and reputations. Prior to founding CTN in 1992, he was a Managing Director at Burson-Marsteller and a Producer at BBC News.
Politics
Watson was part of David Cameron's successful leadership election team in 2005. That same year, he stood as a Conservative Parliamentary candidate in Caerphilly, Wales. Watson is also Chairman of the British-German Association, and speaks vocally AbOUT Britain's place in Europe.
Military
Watson serves as an Honorary Officer in the Royal Naval Reserve (appointed Commander 2013; promoted Captain 2015) and is a trustee of the RNRMC. He is also a Member of the Royal Marines Advisory Group, and chairs a Communications Advisory Group for the First Sea Lord.
Philanthropy
Watson is Chairman at Tusk Trust, of which Prince William is a Patron.
Awards
In 2015, Watson was awarded the German Order of Merit from the Federal President.
Personal life
Watson lives in London and is married to Emma with two children.
