The Marionette Adrift

The Marionette Adrift is set between 1974 and 1976 and tells the fictional story of the decline and fall of Midwesterner rock star Lars Brunner, lead singer of the X-Cult, America's most successful rock band. Brunner's life is suddenly spun adrift whilst riding on the crest of fame. A series of bizarre twists and turns, forces him to confront the demons and tragedy that accompany his fame, fortune and failure and those around him. These events set him adrift into a world far beyond his comprehension - from the relative safety and comforts of life in suburban Milwaukee to the Canary Islands and onwards to Barcelona, the Pyrenees and the Basque country where he becomes embroiled in the tragedy of a short-lived post-Franco Basque rebellion.
