Stephen Killow
Stephen Killow is a Scottish footballer.
Born in Glasgow on 6 December 1981 Killow first signed a professional contract aged 16 years old with Clydebank F.C. where he stayed for 1 season. After playing amateur football Stephen then signed for Arbroath Football Club in 1998. After a short spell with Arbroath he was offered a scholarship with Rollins College, Florida who were a feeder club for MLS franchise Tampa Bay Mutiny. In season 2000-2001 Stephen was promoted to the first team squad where he played alongside the then Colombian captain Carlos Valderamma. In 2002 he was transferred to Luxul FC of Malta where he also had spells with Sliema Wanderers and Hibernians where he made the 1st of his 3 Under 21 caps for the Maltese U21 national team. He was called up to the senior team for their FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Yugoslavia but after a failed appeal to UEFA for Maltese citizenship he was unable to play. He returned to the UK for brief spells with Blackpool FC and Huddersfield FC before retiring injured with a knee injury aged just 24.
