Stephanie Streeter
Stephanie Streeter (1958-) is interim Chief Executive Officer of the United States Olympic Committee.
She has been on the U.S. Olympic Committee board since May 2004, and was involved in supporting the teams at the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympic Games, and has been on the board of the group bidding to host the 2016 Olympics in Chicago. She also is a member of the board of directors of the Green Bay Packers, Goodyear, Kohl's Corp. and Catalyst, a women's research and advisory organization. Most recently, Streeter was CEO of Banta Corporation, a printing company based in Menasha, Wisconsin. The company was acquired by RR Donnelley in late 2006.
Her appointment as interim CEO on March 5, 2009, came as a surprise after the USOC Board fired the previous CEO Jim Scherr, who led the USOC since 2003.
As a basketball star at Stanford University, Streeter was in the Olympic development movement in anticipation of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. But the U.S. team boycotted the Games that year.
After her graduation from Stanford in 1979, Streeter worked in product development, market analysis and sales management for an assortment of software and office equipment companies. She joined Banta as president and chief operating officer in 2001 and led the company in generating sales and a larger market share. She later presided over the sale of Banta in 2006.
