Stay hitt

Stay Hitt is a rock band from Miami. Stay Hitt was formed by three friends from Miami, Adam Cheef (guitar/vocals), Todd Slimak (drums), and [...] Whiskey (bass). They started playing their first shows at the beginning of 2004.

History

The name "Stay Hitt" was taken from an old game the band members played in high school which involved one punching a friend and declaring "stay hit" in which the friend could not hit them back and was thus a fool. They quickly hit the studio with the locally infamous Rock'n Roach studios and produced their first demo "the 'you heard' sessions" which featured 4 songs including "Feel the Power" and a Ramones cover "S.L.U.G." The band made hundreds of copies of this demo and passed them out for free at their shows.

Style

The band's wild and sometimes drunk live performance has helped them gain a strong fan base in the local Miami scene. A typical Stay Hitt show is usually like a non stop party. Many fans often join the band on stage to sing along with them. For a while the band members lived in the same house and were known for their wild parties that would often continue on for days at a time. The band has been fortunate enough to share the stage with such acts like The Vibrators, UK Subs, LA Guns, Against All Authority, The Independents, The Queers, and White Lion. "Feel the Power" was featured on the Sofla compilation "So Fla So Good So What Vol.1" as the opening song. The sound of the band comes from their influences. In high school these guys really looked up to local acts like the Crumbs, the Beltones, the Basicks and Against All Authority. Other more notable influences include the Ramones, The New Bomb Turks, The Dead Boys, The Saints and the Replacements. They all have GeneRally the same taste in music which makes it easy for them to communicate and come up with new tunes. Stay Hitt is currently in the studio working on their first full length album at Birdman's Warehouse
