Stars In The Sky is a non profit making dating agency run by two women with learning disabilities for adults with learning disabilities. The organization is based in London, UK.
Overview
The subject of people with learning disabilites forming relationships ([...] or otherwise) has often been seen as taboo. SITS is committed to challenging this view and increasing opportunities for adults with learning difficulties to meet others and form relationships.
The group is based in Haringey at the office of HAIL (Haringey Association for Independent Living) and serves adults who have a learning disabilty in the Greater London area. The two directors are aided by two support staff who do not have disabilites. The agency has been running for one year and is the only on of its kind in the UK. The agency is the subject of a documentary made by Betty TV for Channel 4 Television.
