SLCT has had many previous 'Mainstage Productions', the big musical of the year. The Inaugural Mainstage Production was Mary Poppins in 2000. Other Mainstage Productions include Peter Pan, Aesop's Falables, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Cinderella, Wizard of Oz, Music Man, Seussical, CATS, The Wiz, Beauty and the Beast, and for this year, A Year With Frog and Toad which will be performed in May of 2010 at the Ritterhausen Theater in Nyack, New York. Mainstage Productions have two casts, meaning there are two different sets of full casts performing on two different days instead of the same cast performing twice. SLCT lets elementary kids in South Orangetown Central School District to take field trips every year to watch the Mainstage Productions. Last year, up to 200 kids auditioned for Beauty and the Beast, but only 85 kids got roles (42 in one cast, 43 in the other).
