History

Polish Catholicism first began to spread to Yonkers with the second ethnic transition out of the Bronx in the mid-1880s. When Father Joseph Dworzak arrived in January 1903, St. Casimir's quickly transformed itself into a "thriving parish and [Dworzak] himself became one of the most important figures in the Yonkers Polish community."
