SS marschiert
"SS marschiert" was a march-song of the german military unit "Schutzstaffel" (also known as "SS").
The lyrics imply the elite-status which the soldiers of the unit and their commanders saw themselves as possessing. The lyrics base on patriotic heroism, the mentality of "fighting till death", which was a popular philosophy in Germany during the "third Reich".
In a version with slightly different and taranslated lyrics, the song also finally found it's way into the french foreign legion and is still sung today as "La Legion marche vers le front" by the french "Legionaires etrangere".
