Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple,Devunipalli

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple (Telugu: శ్రీ లక్ష్మీ నరసింహ స్వామి దేవాలయం) is Situated in Devunipalli village, Peddapalli Mandal in Karimnagar District, Telangana.The temple is located 2 km away from Andugulapalli village and 6 km from Peddapalli,which is situated on SH 1. Sri Narasimha Swamy Temple is on hill,Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and Ugra Narasimha Swamy Temples is situated beside the hill in a village. Devunipalli Narasimha Swamy iss said to be Swayambhu.Swamy naamalu(symbol of Lord Narasimha) and foot prints emerged in the cave of the hill. The temple is said to be built by Jains. Unlike all other temples this temple faces to west where all Hindu temples faces to the east.

Every year on Karthika Poornima is celebrated as Swamy kalyanosthvam (Marriage) or Talvalu followed by a five day celebrations. It ends with Rathosthvam(celestial charriot) of laxmi Narasimha swamy. Rathosthvam is the main event in the five day celebrations. This celebrations end with fifth day, lot of piligrims visit from near by villages and cities like Rompikunta, Andugulapalli, Rangapuram,Peddapalli,Godavarikhani and Mancherial visit Narasimha Swamy temple for his kind blessings.

History

The 'Cave' is discovered by a priest of village. The Temple built down the hill is Ugra Narasimha Swamy Temple; fierce form of Narasimha swamy. Once a huge stone fell from the hill,Surprisingly the huge stone is stopped at a slope edge of a Rock instead of falling on near by houses. The rock broke into two pieces and swamy emerged from the stones. The next day swamy appeared in the dream of a person in the village and asked him to build a temple for him where the stone fell.
