SpreeBB is a free forum message board hosting service that allows internet users to create and manage their own online discussion communities. It was officially launched on August 11, 2005, as a beta with the aim of Providing quality services that were as good as paid alternatives. The service is currently using a modified version of a forum software called Invision Power Board.

SpreeBB is hosted on servers with multiple Intel Xeon processors, using Linux as their operating system. The service utilizes a distributed server infrastructure so as to avoid server overloads. The servers are optimized in the aim for maximum performance and uptime.

  • Compatible with other skins and codes made for other free IPB services
  • A board directory
  • A support board for user problems

SpreeBB Resource Forums

SpreeBB, as on other forum hosting software, has a community that competes to find the best forum/community on the host. Like many other hosts such as InvisionFree, SpreeBB does not have an official resource forum, but instead has official support forums where users can request or provide support as well as several other resources.

As there are no official resource forums, many different forums compete to be the biggest. However, most SpreeBB users get their resources from InvisionFree's vast resource communities.

Since November 10, 2007 the forums on SpreeBB have been very slow to load, and down time on the hosted message boards has been reportedly Horrible. The webmaster of SpreeBB, Dave Spree, has been absent from the support forum for several months while SpreeBB's forum customers have suffered painfully slow service for almost 2 months. Many of SpreeBB's clients have been moving to new message board hosts due to this terrible customer service.
