Speed Check History, In 2003, an unknown flash creator (Creativespeed) began production on Speed Check (a flash-racing game simulator) known as 'Green Light', in early 2004, the project was cancelled, later known to be due to lack of assistance. In late 2005 with the maker renamed to Urgemedia, the project started again and is expected be completed in late 2006. Macromedia Flash (8) is the main developing to tool for the project. Designers Urgemedia say that "even though the UI looks so amazing right now, you'd expect us to use Adobe Photoshop, but it was good that Adobe teamed up with Macromedia, so we could do it all under one software. The New flash allows you customize graphics to an amazing potential of how a game should look."

Competition

Speed Check has been criticized a lot in its past for “surprising delays”. Urgemedia have stated that the reasons due to this are of “team issues” and more recently “similarities with other competitors”. Although the game has a lot of hype currently built up upon it the developer is hoping that the delays have now put to stop.

“We don’t want the consumer to feel like this game is Drag Racer, we want him or her to sit down and realise its not Drag Racer.”
