SpaceVidcast
SpaceVidcast is a live weekly video podcast hosted by Cariann Higginbotham and Benjamin Higginbotham, who had previously written at technologyevangelist.com. Its main purpose is:
The format of the show usually involves Ben and Cariann reviewing a selection of interesting space news at the opening of the show, followed by them discussing one or more weekly topics or having a guest on the show. An important part of the show is also the live chat room which the hosts interact with throughout the show.
SpaceVidcast is a private initiative and not part of any governmental (NASA, European Space Agency, Canadian Space Agency, Indian Space Research Organisation...) or private organisation (X Prize Foundation, SpaceX...) like other video podcasts AbOUT space such as NASA Edge or the Hubblecast.
Weekly Live-casts
Format
The show starts with a graphic composed of the SpaceVidcast logo, episode number and date according to UTC. At the beginning of the podcast Ben usually compliments his wife And Co-host which is followed by a short exchange on a general topic. The first segment of the show is space news. Prepared by Cariann, it takes up most of the first part of the podcast. The video introduction is played after the space news segment. After that, the two hosts either discuss one or more topics with the chat room or interview a guest.
