Space Invasion

Space Invasion is a management-type, text-based, space-strategy themed online browser game with over 130,000 players. Space Invasion was created and maintained by Bigpoint,

As of September 22nd there is currently 1 universe with more planned as galaxy fills.

Alliances

Space Invasion supports alliances, that are easy to create, so every player could have their own. There isn't any limit in alliance size, except for the fact, that alliances with hundreds of members tend to have poor communication due to the massive amount of players. Today the alliance Universal Airforce sits on rank 1

Points

Points are used to rank players in game for performance. They are gathered from buildings, research, and fleets. They also can be gathered from win's in battles and the possession of resources.

Resources

There are 4 resources to be collected in the game: Pig Iron, Metal, Kryptonite and Spice

Pig Iron is necessary as the main provider of pig iron to the blast furnace for the production of metal, as well as for upgrading buildings which require strong vibration resistance.

Metal is harder, more resistant and more mouldable than pig iron, and is used primarily for ship construction and finer structures.

Kryptonite is very hard but not as ductile as metal. Kryptonite is used for almost all buildings and ships. It is also essential for research. It has unbelievable properties as an alloy and is also very resistant to external influences.

Spice is a relatively rare raw material. As a result, it is that much more valuable. Spice provides outstanding performance in ship drives, in research and also in alloys. Spice even plays a vital role in food production. It is essential for an up-and-coming empire.

Buildings

The buildings in Space Invasion are all upgradeable into higher levels, to increase production or to unlock new ships and technologies. Building costs double with each level, except for mines, which follow a different formula.

These are the basic buildings, of which most are available immediately, and the rest (Research Lab, Weapons Factory) usually become available within few days of play.

Pig iron mine - Produces pig iron.

[Blast furnace] - Turns Pig Iron into Metal. Two units of pig iron are used for one metal.

Kryptonite mine - Produces kryptonite.

Spice mine - produces spice.

Fusion Plant - Produces energy, which is used to power mines.

Development Center - Reduces construction times for buildings, and unlocks new technologies.

Research Lab - Enables the research of technologies. Each level reduces research times, and unlocks new technologies.

Weapons Factory - All ships and defensive emplacements are built here. Every level reduces ship construction times, and unlocks new ships.

Fleet base - Allows the player to send out fleets from the planet. Each level allows for one more fleet to be sent simultaneously.

Warehouse's - There is a warehouse for Pig Iron, Metal, Kryptonite and Spice. These allow the holding of more resources on the planet.

Each building takes up a "field" on a planet, and each new level takes up a new field. When the fields of the planet are full, no new buildings can be built.

Ships

There are many types of ships to choose from in Space Invasion. All ships have certain stats, that define their combat capability.

Structure Points are used to describe the ships hit points. When they dry up, the ship is destroyed.

Shields provide protection for the ship. A ship's shield can absorb a certain amount of damage every turn, thus reducing the damage caused to the ships hull.

Fire power represents the ships attack power, with which to destroy other ships

Speed is the factor determining the time required to travel between planets.

Capacity represents the size of the ships cargo holds, used to transport fuel, and resources.

Fuel Consumption shows how much spice is used for flight.

List of ships

Small Transport The small transport was developed to ship resources between planets. Thanks to its relatively large cargo capacity for its comparatively small size, it is ideal for transportation across short distances. The transport is driven by rocket engines, allowing a maximum speed of 300 m/s

Cost to Build:

Metal: 3000 Kryptonite: 3000

Structure 6000 Shields 10 Fire Power 2 Speed 3000 Capacity 6000 Fuel Consumption 2

Large Transport The large transport is the next development stage of the small transport. It can transport more and is also equipped with a rocket engine.

Cost to Build:

Metal: 8000 Kryptonite: 6000

Structure 14000 Shields 25 Fire Power 5 Speed 5000 Capacity 30000 Fuel Consumption 15

Transmitter The transmitter functions simultaneously as a transport and a warship. With its maximum cargo capacity of 250,000 units and its ship-board weapons, it is unique. It uses Diffusion Engines.

Cost to Build

Metal: 25000 Kryptonite: 25000

Structure 50000 Shields 70 Fire Power 130 Speed 7000 Capacity 25000 Fuel Consumption 25

Small Fighter The small fighter has the smallest design of its type. Because the construction time and costs are low, a large fleet can be built relatively quickly, which can be crucial at the beginning of the game. Its rocket engine brings it to a maximum speed of 300 m/s.

Cost to Build:

Metal: 4000 Kryptonite: 2000 Spice: 100

Structure 6000 Shields 10 Fire Power 50 Speed 9000 Capacity 60 Fuel Consumption 15

Man-O-War The man-of-war offers a relatively high rate of fire compared to the small fighter. It is equipped with a rocket engine, thus its top speed is equivalent to that of a small fighter.

Cost to Build:

Metal: 8000 Kryptonite: 4000 Spice: 300

Structure 12000 Shields 30 Fire Power 90 Speed 6500 Capacity 100 Fuel Consumption 28

Star-Cruiser The star cruiser is a further development of the man-of-war. Its heavy laser cannons can even destroy small shield domes. However, it is extremely vulnerable to solar cannons, because it's shields cannot withstand them.

Cost to Build:

Metal: 25000 Kryptonite: 10000 Spice: 1500

Structure 35000 Shields 100 Fire Power 250 Speed 4800 Capacity 200 Fuel Consumption 40

Phoenix The phoenix is equipped with a diffusion engine and a good shield system. It's efficiency when used against small cannons is unmatched.

Cost to Build:

Metal: 30000 Kryptonite: 20000 Spice: 5000

Structure 50000 Shields 180 Fire Power 320 Speed 8000 Capacity 500 Fuel Consumption 55

Battleship The battleship is one of the most important warships. It can knock whole defensive systems out of power. The advantage: the speed provided by the WarP drive

Cost to Build:

Metal: 35000 Kryptonite: 25000

Structure 60000 Shields 300 Fire Power 300 Speed 6800 Capacity 1000 Fuel Consumption 110

Structure 110000 Shields 400 Fire Power 700 Speed 4000 Capacity 3000 Fuel Consumption 130

Imperial Starbase The imperial starbase is the most powerful ship in the universe. It is the only ship to have a BHR cannon. With this weapon, it can destroy asteroids and even planets

Cost to Build:

Metal: 3000000 Kryptonite: 2000000 Spice: 500000

Structure 5000000 Shields 15000 Fire Power 35000 Speed 300 Capacity 3500000 Fuel Consumption 250

Spy Probe The use of spy probes is very important when information is needed AbOUT both an opponent's weapon strength and resources. The spy probe observes an object with great precision from a distance of several kilometres and can peer through dense layers of ground. However, the radiation which it uses, also known as alpha radiation, cannot penetrate protective barriers, because it is captured by electromagnetic wave traps. It is possible to spy on distant planets within a short time frame. Every level of espionage technology increases the efficiency and strength of the radiation camera. Thus more information can be gleaned from an opponent.

Cost to Build:

Kryptonite: 3000 Spice: 200

Structure 3000 Shields 6 Fire Power 0 Speed 15000000 Capacity 0 Fuel Consumption 3

Recycler Rubble forms when ships or defensive installations are destroyed. A portion of the lost structure points go into the rubble. Recyclers can travel over long distances relatively economically, although only with diffusion engines.

Cost to Build:

Pig Iron: 2000 Metal: 10000 Kryptonite: 5000

Structure 17000 Shields 30 Fire Power 8 Speed 2000 Capacity 25000 Fuel Consumption 20

Colonization Ship The colony ship is required to colonise planets. Up to 10 planets can be colonised. However, because of its size, the colony ship can only travel at a maximum speed of 50% of the rocket engine.
