South Stream Serbia AG
South Stream Serbia AG is a joint venture founded by Russia's Gasprom and Serbian state-owned company Srbijagas. It was initially proposed in early 2008 during bilateral meetings between leaders of two countries and signing of agreement on energy cooperation involving participation of Serbia in the South Stream project. The joint venture was incorporated on 17 November 2009 in a signing ceremony in Bern, Switzerland.
As per the agreement, South Stream Serbia AG will conduct feasibility study of the Serbian section of the South Stream project. The joint engineering company will prepare feasibility study of the Serbian section of project. If agreement on investment is reached, the company will be also responsible for design, financing, construction and operation of the pipeline in Serbia. Gasprom will hold a controlling 51 per cent of the stake in the company while Srbijagas will own 49 per cent.
