The learning content is jointly created by SoloLearn and, increasingly, community contributors.

History

SoloLearn was founded in 2014 by Yeva Hyusyan and Davit Kocharyan and is based in Pleasanton, California. On 11 November 2014 SoloLearn, SkyCriptor and ggTaxi were Recognized the Best Startups at ArmeniaFTW International Startup Contest Held in Gyumri. SoloLearn was awarded the Grand Prize at the Facebook FbStart Apps of the Year Awards.

Funding

On 25 September 2014, Granatus Ventures provided $100k funding for SoloLearn. On 18 October 2016, SoloLearn announced it’s raised a $1.2M seed round to socialize mobile code learning. Valley VC Learn Capital led the round, joining a number of other unnamed private investors who have already backed SoloLearn.

Description

Currently, twelve programming disciplines are taught on all major platforms, the most popular being C++, web development, Python, and Java. Each app is divided into lessons that can be completed in a few minutes. The app was released for free. It has more than 5 million active learners across United States, Europe, and India.

Availability

SoloLearn apps are available on Android, iOS, and web. The courses are free. SoloLearn has more than 20M learners, over 940 lessons and more than 9000 quizzes.
