Sodyo (founded in 2013) is an Israeli tech company. The company develops software products that connect physical assets with digital content. Sodyo specializes in color visual code technology that offers an alternative to traditional QR codes, enabling scanning from a distance.

History

Sodyo was founded in 2012 in Israel by Alex Alon, Rina Alon and Eran Katz. The startup initially focused on developing interactive visual code technology.

Technology and Products

Sodyo’s visual code technology is based on a proprietary system known as Color Vertex Points (CVP). The technology is designed to enable optical recognition of visual markers using standard cameras, including smartphone cameras and other imaging devices.

The technology supports the simultaneous scanning of multiple markers, allowing layered or multi-point digital interactions. Data associated with the markers can be updated dynamically without reprinting the physical codes. The markers may also be produced in customized shapes and visual formats to accommodate design requirements. Scanned markers can also include integrated digital interfaces that facilitate user interaction with linked content.

Sodyo commercializes its technology in different product lines and sector-specific applications. In logistics and cargo management, it operates Zimark, a joint venture with Zim Integrated Shipping Services, which applies the technology to tracking and operational processes. In media and advertising, the technology is marketed under the name “Qapture” for interactive print and promotional applications. In brand protection and anti-counterfeiting, it is offered as “Verimark,” providing product authentication and verification solutions.
