SmartMusic
SmartMusic, formerly SmartMusic Studio, is a software application designed to help band, orchestra, and voice students practice.
Using the Gradebook software included with SmartMusic, music teachers send students assignments. With a microphone connected to their computer, students practice the assignment, at home or at school, by playing or singing along with accompaniment. SmartMusic indicates which notes were played correctly and incorrectly, both in terms of rhythm and pitch, and provides the student with a score. When the student is satisfied with the score they can send their score, -- and a recording of their performance -- back to the teacher for evaluation. This also provides the teacher with a means to document student ProgresS and achievement.
SmartMusic includes a library of music and pre-created assignments for band, orchestra, and jazz band, as well as solo titles for INSTRUMENTS and voice. Additional accompaniments can be made with Finale (software) which is not included, as well as by importing audio files. Tempo can be adjusted on all accompaniments and an electronic tuner, metronome and a digital audio recorder are all built-in.
